My Journey.

My name is Allie and I'm a first year specialised foundation doctor (FY1) working in London. I graduated from Imperial College London in 2024, achieving numerous awards for academic performance. Alongside my studies, I fell in love with research and managed to publish multiple papers, as well as present at national and international conferences, while also being part of over 20 societies at medical school. I began sharing my journey online when I was preparing for medical school entrance exams and have been posting my experiences, tips and advice ever since. Along the way, I started sharing my notes for IB and medical school, which have helped thousands of students achieve top grades. Medicine is one of the most challenging paths to pursue, and I strongly believe that everyone deserves support regardless of their background.

2015 - 2017

Sixth Form.

In 2017, I was extremely undecided about whether to pursue a path into medicine and whether I was suited to being a doctor. As one of the only students in my high school thinking of applying for medicine, I was discouraged and decided to apply for other subjects. However, I was still undecided, declined my offers and took a gap year instead.

2017 - 2018

Gap Year.

During my gap year, I gained a number of experiences to help me decide whether medicine was for me and worked on making my medical school application the strongest it could be. I worked in a research centre in Germany, did a lab-based anatomy internship in the US and travelled to multiple countries. It was during this year that I started sharing my journey on Instagram. Eventually, I received unconditional offers from top medical schools and accepted my place.

2018 - 2024

Medical School.

Throughout my time at medical school, I continued sharing my journey towards becoming a doctor, including all the moments of doubt, indecision and various challenges along the way in the hope that it will inspire other students feeling that they can't pursue medicine for whatever reason.
